Steve Baxter has over 40 years of experience in the real estate business in the Dallas - Fort Worth market and other major metro areas in Texas. He has been involved in the acquisition, improvement, managing, and sale of approximately $400 million dollars worth of residential, condominium, multi-family, rural land, and office investment property.
Steve went to Hill Junior College 1970-71 on a baseball scholarship and there he was selected President of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was selected All Tournament in the Texas Regional Tournament.
Steve has worked in the real estate profession in Texas since 1977. Steve is the owner of Oakwood Property Company. Steve earned his Texas Real Estate Broker’s License in 1978. He bought his first 4 plex in 1979 for $42,000 with a fellow seminary student. Here his skills were developed to know the expertise to be the general contractor and rehab.
Steve accomplished the majority of the rehab by himself and started to learn the remodeling details of the business over the next year. He sold the quadplex a year and a half later for $85,000. That's when he first decided that he loved this investment real estate business.
The basketball video can be viewed here: Steve Baxter Dallas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBDzBLBJR_k
In 40 years of active high school Christian ministry, he has ministered to approximately 15,000 high school students. He has always encouraged them to think about what they wish to be said about themselves at their funerals and written Dallas Steve Baxter on their tombstones.
Steve recalls Andrew’s hard work and enthusiasm on the basketball court and looks forward to the coming successes that will unfold as Andrew grows in college and beyond.
Andrew Baxter’s Dad, Steve, was normally videoing the game since Andrew’s brother Brennan was the senior point guard. Steve noticed how excited the bench was and how much joy they were having, so he started taping the bench more than the basketball game. He created a funny video that can be watched on his website. Andrew’s number was 23.
Brennan Baxter, Andrew Baxter’s older brother, was a successful basketball player. Steve enjoyed Brennan’s success just as well and has had many happy times enjoying both of his sons’ successes on and off the Pearce High School basketball court.
Andrew Baxter embraces the new challenges of college courses. He loves meeting students from other states. But most of all he loves the Christian fellowship of being involved in “BUCS” – Brothers Under Christ - an organization of Christians at Texas Tech who want to enlarge their faith as they progress through university.
Andrew is thankful for the successes of high school, thankful for his popularity socially and accomplishments athletically. But he would be the first to say that those successes are nothing when compared to the privilege of knowing Christ and living for Him.
For the Apostle John penned that "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
